Overview
- Police responded on Nov. 25 around 9:50 a.m. to a reported stabbing at a residence on the 1400 block of State Street in Springfield.
- Prosecutors say two people were fatally stabbed and the suspected assailant died by suicide at the scene.
- The victims were identified as Khamkieo Chingvacha, 67, of Springfield, and Sachivanh Phomphanh, 47, of West Hartford.
- The alleged attacker was identified as Kung Kedjumnong, 43, of West Hartford, whom the DA says killed both victims before taking his own life.
- The Springfield Police Homicide Unit and the Hampden County DA’s Murder Unit are leading the investigation, and an online obituary noted a service for Phomphanh.
