Overview
- Forty-two electronic variable-message signs are being installed along a 50 km stretch between Tábor and České Budějovice on motorway D3.
- The test run is scheduled to begin at the end of September under the Czech Road and Motorway Directorate’s oversight.
- Drivers will see the 150 km/h limit only in good weather and smooth traffic, with a 20 km/h reduction during rain and winter.
- The Directorate is assessing similar deployments on the D1 corridor toward Ostrava and the D11 near Hradec Králové.
- The trial aligns with wider European efforts to use dynamic limits for optimizing traffic flow, safety and environmental impact.
