Overview

  • The prohibition covers all Deepseek applications and online services across government ministries, agencies and institutions.
  • Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said the move followed an analysis by the National Authority for Cyber and Information Security.
  • Earlier this year, U.S. federal agencies including NASA and the Defense Department barred Deepseek and states such as Texas along with Australia and Taiwan have imposed similar bans.
  • In late June, the European Commission issued a Digital Services Act notice to Deepseek’s developer over data sovereignty and privacy compliance concerns.
  • Deepseek’s low-cost, open-source model has disrupted AI markets and intensified debates over data protection and cross-border governance.
