CZ Launches DUTY, a Modular 9mm Duty Pistol

The optics-ready, serialized-chassis design and published service-life rating are meant to give agencies and shooters a durable, configurable sidearm for duty use.

Overview

  • CZ launched the DUTY on October 6, 2026, rolling out a new 9mm striker-fired pistol aimed at duty and service markets.
  • The pistol centers on a serialized modular chassis that lets users swap grip modules, change barrel lengths, and use different magazine capacities for mission-specific setups.
  • CZ built the DUTY with duty-grade parts — a cold hammer-forged barrel, a nitride-finished slide, and a fiberglass-reinforced polymer frame — and added ambidextrous controls plus an optional external manual safety.
  • The slide is optics-ready for several common red-dot footprints (including Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc/Holosun K, and Leupold DeltaPoint PRO) and supports Aimpoint ACRO and Holosun 509T with baseplates, and the line debuts in four 4-inch models with 15- or 17-round magazines.
  • Early hands-on testing reported by multiple outlets found strong accuracy and no malfunctions during hundreds of rounds, and CZ rates the DUTY’s service life at 50,000 rounds with a 25,000-round figure for overpressure DM51/+P+ ammo.
