- Cyclone Michaung, which has intensified from a deep depression, is expected to make landfall in Andhra Pradesh on December 5, with sustained wind speeds of 80-90 kmph, gusting to 100 kmph.
- Heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for four districts in Tamil Nadu and several regions in southern and eastern India.
- More than 5,000 fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea due to harsh conditions, resulting in around 1,000 boats being docked at Pulicat Lake in Tiruvallur.
- All colleges in the Union Territory of Puducherry, including the regions of Karaikal and Yanam, have been declared closed on December 4 due to the approaching cyclone.
- A 50-member National Disaster Response team from Bengaluru has arrived in Kanchipuram district as a precautionary measure.
