Cyclist Remco Evenepoel Injured in Training Accident with Postal Vehicle

The double Olympic champion suffered multiple fractures after colliding with an open door of a stationary postal van in Belgium.

The accident occurred when the door of a stationary postal vehicle swung open, causing Evenepoel to collide with it and break his bike in two.
The Belgian cyclist was conscious after the crash and initially treated at a hospital in Anderlecht before being transferred to Herentals for further evaluation.
Evenepoel, who won gold in both the road race and time trial at the Paris Olympics, expressed determination to recover and return stronger despite the injuries.
It remains unclear how the injuries will impact his 2025 racing schedule, which includes planned participation in Milan-San Remo, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, and potentially the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France.
