Cyclist Killed in NE Portland Crash During Night With Three Traffic Deaths

Police request tips in the Major Crash Team's probe of the NE Glisan fatality.

Overview

  • A car struck a bicyclist around 6:20 p.m. in the 11200 block of NE Glisan Street, and AMR pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene with Portland Fire and Rescue assisting.
  • Police say the driver remained and is cooperating, no arrests or identities have been released, and NE Glisan was closed between NE 110th and NE 113th during the investigation.
  • The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team is investigating and asks anyone with information to email crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case 25-297278.
  • Within about two hours, two other separate fatal crashes occurred nearby: a man in a wheelchair was hit near NE 122nd and later died at a hospital, and a woman was fatally struck on NE 102nd; in both, the drivers stayed.
  • All three incidents occurred on city-designated high-crash corridors in the Hazelwood area, and police are urging extra caution on dark fall evenings heading into Halloween.
