Cyclist in His 70s Critically Injured in Crash Near Richmond as Police Appeal for Witnesses
The rider was airlifted to James Cook Hospital after a collision with a silver Renault Modus on Darlington Road.
Overview
- The collision occurred at about 3.10pm on 25 November on Darlington Road between Skeeby and Richmond, following an emergency call at 2.50pm.
- Both the car and the bicycle were travelling from Skeeby towards Richmond when they collided.
- The cyclist, a man in his 70s, was flown by air ambulance to James Cook Hospital and remains in a critical condition.
- The Renault Modus driver was uninjured and is assisting officers, and the road was closed until around 8.30pm for investigation and recovery.
