Overview
- All ten episodes of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 are now available on Netflix, and CD PROJEKT RED streamed the first episode for free on Twitch Tuesday.
- The season is a standalone, anthology-style story that swaps David Martinez for a new cast while reuniting Studio TRIGGER with returning creatives including director Kai Ikarashi and showrunner Bartosz Sztybor.
- CD PROJEKT RED confirmed that Hideo Kojima’s in-world character Hideyoshi Oshima makes a cameo in the series.
- Early critical response is mixed, with several reviewers praising the series’ visuals, voice work, and broader scope while others say the larger ensemble and looser plotting reduce the emotional clarity that marked the original.
- CD PROJEKT RED will release a free Cyberpunk 2077 update (version 2.5) on October 22 that adds items and features inspired by Edgerunners 2 and will preview the patch during a REDstream livestream the day before, a move intended to drive renewed player interest in the game.
