Cyberabad Police Return 827 Phones Worth Rs 2 Crore After Month-Long CEIR Drive

Authorities attributed the success to a 45-day zone-based operation using the central IMEI registry that facilitated swift handset returns.

  • Madhapur led the phase with 180 devices retrieved, followed by Medchal (176), Balanagar (174), Rajendranagar (153) and Shamshabad (144).

  • Recovered handsets were handed back at an event at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, where beneficiaries thanked officers for their prompt action.
  • DCP (Crimes) A. Muthyam Reddy urged citizens to report missing phones at local stations or via the CEIR portal to maintain recovery momentum.
