Cy Young Winner Ray Out for Season After Tommy John Surgery

Seattle Mariners ace lefthander Robbie Ray underwent Tommy John surgery and flexor tendon repair in his pitching elbow.
Ray will miss the remainder of the 2022 season rehabilitating from the procedure.
Ray received the operation from Dr. Keith Meister in Texas.
Ray is in the second year of a five-year, $115 million contract with the Mariners.
Ray was the 2021 American League Cy Young Award winner after going 12-12 with a 3.71 earned run average and 212 strikeouts in 189 innings pitched in his first season with Seattle.
