CVS Health Announces Key Executive Appointments as Leadership Overhaul Progresses

New CEO David Joyner names Brian Newman as CFO designate and Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips as Chief Medical Officer to drive strategic transformation.

Brian Newman, formerly of UPS and PepsiCo, will assume the role of CFO designate on April 21, succeeding outgoing CFO Tom Cowhey.
Tom Cowhey will transition to a strategic advisory role to CEO David Joyner, effective May 12.
Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips, previously with Press Ganey and Providence Health, will join as Chief Medical Officer on May 19.
These appointments are part of CVS Health’s broader strategy to enhance cost control, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
CVS expects its financial results for 2025 to meet or exceed guidance based on year-to-date performance through February.
