• A railway constable at Cuttack station on June 5 rescued a 44-year-old passenger from Mirzapur who slipped while boarding the moving Kanyakumari–Dibrugarh Express.
• The passenger suffered only minor injuries and received immediate medical assistance following the incident.
• Odisha DGP YB Khurania granted a Rs 2,500 cash reward to ADG Arun Bothra in recognition of the officer’s timely intervention.
• The rescued passenger, who was rushing due to a family emergency, was counselled on safe boarding practices before continuing his journey.
• A similar act of bravery occurred on May 30 at Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus when RPF constable Ram Narayan Singh saved another passenger slipping from a moving train.
