Customer Fatally Shoots Man After Alleged Assault in Compton Beauty Store, LASD Says

Investigators report employee corroboration with a charging decision to be made by the district attorney.

  • According to LASD, a second female customer in her 50s retrieved a personal firearm, fired a warning shot, then fired again, striking the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • LASD says employees corroborated the account, investigators currently see no criminal culpability, and authorities are seeking additional witnesses through the Homicide Bureau and Crime Stoppers.
