CUSAT, Cochin Shipyard Sign MoU To Set Up Rs 3.53-Crore Sustainable Shipbuilding Centre

The industry-funded hub will equip the campus with advanced simulation tools to train talent for modern ship design.

Overview

  • CSL has committed Rs 3.53 crore in CSR funding for a Centre of Excellence on the CUSAT campus.
  • CSL Managing Director Madhu S Nair handed over the agreement to Vice Chancellor Dr M Junaid Bushiri at a function on Friday.
  • The centre will deploy state-of-the-art computing and marine software for research in Naval Architecture, CFD and FEA.
  • CUSAT named Dr Satheesh Babu P K as coordinator, with Dr Manoj T Issac and Dr Rajesh P Nair as assistant coordinators to oversee implementation.
  • With the MoU executed, the formal establishment and operational rollout of the centre are the next steps.
