- NBA stars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala have become new minority owners of the San Francisco team in Tiger Woods' and Rory McIlroy’s tech-infused golf league, TGL.
- The ownership group is led by billionaire Marc Lasry's Avenue Sports Fund, which first emerged earlier in the month and aims to invest in sports-related entities.
- TGL is a new, innovative league that blends golf and advanced technology. It features team matches from a custom-build venue. The inaugural season is to start on Jan. 9, 2024 and will be broadcast on ESPN channels.
- The TGL currently has teams in Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles and New York, with the San Francisco team being the fifth to be revealed. The official name for the San Francisco team will be announced soon.
- Stephen Curry, known for his active presence in the golf world, will contribute his business portfolio and championship mentality to the new high-tech golf league.
- In addition to the celebrity owners, the TGL has also finalized a roster of 24 professional golfers for its inaugural season, including major championship winners such as McIlroy, Woods, Jon Rahm, and Justin Thomas.
