• Cure Leukaemia is promoting the Close To A Cure gala on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Landmark Hotel in London, with all proceeds directed to The ATICUS Network.
• The ATICUS programme focuses on accelerating trials for children undergoing stem cell transplant, with sites including Great Ormond Street Hospital, UCLH, St Mary’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
• The charity funds dedicated research nurses at centres such as Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, King’s College Hospital, UCLH, The Royal Marsden, The Christie and Manchester Royal Infirmary to connect patients with cutting-edge treatments.
• Through these networks, more than £2 million of drugs have been delivered to the NHS at no cost, and trials have recruited thousands of patients for options beyond standard care.
• CEO James McLaughlin cites blood cancer as the UK’s fifth most common cancer and third biggest cancer killer, and high-profile patrons Gary and George Lineker are helping raise awareness during Blood Cancer and Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
