The launch opens Volkswagen’s bid for affordable EV volume with a Spain-built family meant to cut costs.

Overview

  • Cupra unveiled the Raval on Thursday, confirming it as the first production model on the group’s new MEB+ platform for small electric cars.
  • The lineup offers two battery chemistries and four outputs, with a 37 kWh LFP pack for about 300 km and a 52 kWh NMC pack delivering up to roughly 450 km and 116–226 PS.
  • Charging supports 11 kW AC and up to 90 kW or 130 kW DC, with 10–80% quoted at about 27 minutes for the 37 kWh pack and 23 minutes for the 52 kWh pack.
  • At launch, three large‑battery “Launch Editions” with at least 211 PS start at €37,250, while the ~€26,000 base model with the 37 kWh pack is slated for summer 2026 with orders expected around July.
  • The front‑drive layout on a 4.05 m body frees a 430‑liter boot, and the Android‑based infotainment adds an in‑car app store, as VW readies VW ID. Polo, ID. Cross and Škoda Epiq on the same Spanish program targeting €650 million in savings and higher volumes.
