Overview
- On July 14, Cuomo released a video announcing his bid for the Nov. 4 general election on the “Fight & Deliver” independent ballot line.
- The November contest will pit Cuomo against Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, incumbent Mayor Eric Adams and Republican Curtis Sliwa in a crowded field.
- Mid-July polls place Mamdani at roughly 35–40% support versus Cuomo’s 24–25%, with Adams and Sliwa each polling at about 11–15%.
- Cuomo has attacked Mamdani’s agenda as “slick slogans with no real solutions” and is campaigning on rent relief, safer streets, homeownership access and affordable childcare.
- He plans to ask rivals by mid-September to drop out if they are not leading so that anti-Mamdani voters can unite behind a single contender.
