• Every Cubs player will don special blue jerseys without last names and emblazoned with No. 23 to honor Ryne Sandberg.
• The tribute jerseys will be auctioned after the game to raise funds for metastatic prostate cancer research through the Cubs For A Cure initiative.
• The team has designated the entire Saturday game day as Ryno’s Day and will present in-stadium video tributes during their first home series since Sandberg’s passing.
• Since his death, players have worn a commemorative sleeve patch featuring Sandberg’s signature and a red No. 23 on their uniforms for the remainder of the season.
• Sandberg spent 15 seasons with the Cubs, earned ten All-Star selections and nine Gold Gloves, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
