• Tucker traveled Wednesday with a Cubs medical staffer to Tampa to work at Optimal Performance & Physical Therapies with Jeremy Maddox on his strained left calf.
• Manager Craig Counsell said the rehab has plateaued and that Tucker is not responding to the current treatment plan.
• The club hopes he rejoins the team for the final homestand starting Sept. 23 to log game reps before the playoffs.
• Tucker last played Sept. 2 and went on the injured list retroactive to Sept. 6, extending his absence to roughly three weeks.
• Counsell called it important that Tucker plays next week and, while expressing concern about the calendar, remained optimistic he will play this season; Tucker is batting .270 with 22 homers and 73 RBIs as the Cubs clinched a postseason berth.
