- The Cubs will host a free public tribute at Gallagher Way outside Wrigley Field on Friday, August 22 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
- A live broadcast of Sandberg’s private funeral will play on the plaza video board and fans can pay respects at his statue.
- Sandberg’s personal collection of memorabilia will be added to the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field archives and displayed during the event.
- No tickets are required for the tribute and collected food donations will go to Nourishing Hope and Most Blessed Trinity Food Pantry.
- Ryne Sandberg, a 10-time All-Star and 1984 NL MVP, died on July 28 at age 65 after publicly battling metastatic prostate cancer.
