Cuban pitcher Yariel Rodríguez has agreed to a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, pending a physical and resolution of immigration issues.
Rodríguez, who previously played with the Chunichi Dragons of Nippon Professional Baseball, was granted free agency in October and has not pitched competitively since the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
In his last season with the Dragons in 2022, Rodríguez posted a 1.15 ERA with 60 strikeouts over 54 2/3 relief innings pitched.
