Overview
- The Central Board of Secondary Education will close the extended online registration for CTET September 2026 on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and candidates must apply at ctet.nic.in before the portal shuts.
- CBSE postponed the CTET that had been scheduled for September 6 and has not yet announced a new exam date, creating uncertainty about the test timetable.
- To apply candidates must register on the CTET portal, complete the application form, upload a photo and signature, pay the fee online, and download the confirmation page.
- Each CTET paper contains 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks with 30 questions each on Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental studies, Language I and Language II; Paper II runs 9:30–12:00 and Paper I runs 14:30–17:00.
- Qualifying CTET is an eligibility requirement for teaching jobs in central schools and certain Union Territory schools but does not guarantee recruitment, and the postponement could delay hiring timelines for candidates.
