Overview
- Service on the Brown, Green, Orange and Pink lines will pause in the Loop from 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 to 2 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27, the agency confirmed Friday.
- All elevated Loop stations will be closed: Clark/Lake, State/Lake, Washington/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, Harold Washington Library–State/Van Buren, LaSalle/Van Buren, Quincy and Washington/Wells.
- Rider options include Pink Line trains rerouted after Polk to the Blue Line at Racine, free shuttles between Roosevelt and Clinton for Green/Orange, and shuttles between Merchandise Mart and Harold Washington Library for Brown.
- Trains will operate normally outside downtown on affected lines (Brown Kimball–Merchandise Mart, Orange Midway–Roosevelt, Green Harlem/Lake–Clinton and Roosevelt–63rd), and Red and Blue subway service remains unchanged.
- CTA advises planning for extra time as delays are possible outside the Loop and Train Tracker data may be affected, with crews also using the closure for station repairs and maintenance.
