CSU Proposes Military Overhaul with Mandatory Conscription and Advanced Defense Systems

The CSU has unveiled a 'Masterplan' to increase the Bundeswehr's personnel to 500,000, including reinstating mandatory military conscription.
The proposal includes acquiring 300 new tanks, 500 armored vehicles, and creating a fleet of 100,000 military drones, including a drone carrier for the navy.
The party seeks to establish an 'Iron Dome'-style missile defense system using a combination of Patriot, Iris-T, and Arrow 3 batteries.
The plan also advocates for developing long-range missiles with a 2,500-kilometer range and acquiring 1,000 Taurus cruise missiles.
To finance these initiatives, the CSU proposes raising defense spending to 3% of GDP, supported by a 10-year plan to streamline procurement and expand production capabilities.
