CSTPL to Open Mumbai Pilot Training Centre in Q1 2026

The venture aims to ease a looming pilot shortfall, with DGCA-approved programs planned across multiple aircraft types.

Overview

  • CSTPL, the InterGlobe–CAE joint venture, announced a 44,000-square-foot training facility in Mumbai.
  • The centre will launch with two Airbus A320 full-flight simulators and offers expansion capacity to six bays.
  • It will complement existing Greater Noida, Gurugram and Bengaluru centres that together can host 23 simulators.
  • Offerings will include type ratings, recurrent training and proficiency checks for Airbus, ATR and Boeing aircraft in line with DGCA requirements.
  • Industry projections cite demand for 98,000 new pilots in Asia Pacific by 2034 and up to 20,000 in India over 10 years, as India issued 1,342 CPLs in 2024, down 17% year on year.
