Crunchyroll Adds Mobile Games to Its Mega and Ultimate Subscription Services

Anime streaming service offers five launch titles available on Android, with iOS compatibility to follow; games included at no additional cost for Mega and Ultimate Fan tier subscribers only.

Crunchyroll, a popular anime streaming service, is expanding its offerings to include mobile games with the launch of 'Crunchyroll Game Vault' for subscribers of its higher-tier services, Mega and Ultimate Fan.
The move mirrors similar expansion efforts by other streaming services such as Netflix, however, Crunchyroll's niche focus on anime-related content could provide a competitive edge.
The Crunchyroll Game Vault launched with five anime-inspired titles including 'Captain Velvet: The Jump+ Dimensions', 'River City Girls', 'Wolfstride', 'Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery', and 'Inbento'. More titles will be added over time.
Initially, the gaming option will be available only for Android users with iOS compatibility expected in the near future.
The games are ad-free and don't entail any in-app purchases. This enhancement in Crunchyroll's services is viewed as a strategy to retain and increase the subscriber base, offering more value for anime fans who enjoy gaming.
