CRT Begins Suspending Mobile Lines Ending in 1 for Missing CURP Link

The action starts a staged national campaign that could lead to permanent cancellation of numbers for users who do not complete identity linkage.

Overview

  • The Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones started progressive suspensions for unlinked lines with terminal digit 1, a process that the agency says can occur within 72 hours of the action that began on Tuesday.
  • Users whose service is suspended can have it restored immediately by completing the linkage with their mobile operator using a valid official ID that shows their CURP.
  • Registration can be done online through operator portals or the CRT site registratulinea.crt.gob.mx and these pages do not consume mobile data, so people can apply even with a suspended line.
  • The CRT says the procedure does not store biometric data and has opened support channels at dudasvinculacion@crt.gob.mx and the 24-hour citizen line 079 for technical help.
  • The rule covers prepaid, postpaid, rental, corporate contracts, eSIMs and SIMs bought before January 2026, suspended numbers have a 90-day window to reactivate before permanent cancellation, and the next cutoff is September 15 for lines ending in 2 with further dates through December.
