• NSW Police say about 50 rounds were fired from a unit on Georges River Road at passing drivers, pedestrians and police over roughly two hours.
• Sixteen people were treated for mostly minor injuries; a man in his 50s shot in the neck and chest underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
• Tactical officers exchanged gunfire before arresting the suspect and seizing a .30-calibre rifle and other items from the apartment.
• The accused, identified in reporting as 60-year-old Artemios Mintzas, was charged with 25 offences including 18 counts of shooting with intent to murder and was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday.
• Police say there are no known links to terrorism or organised crime as forensics continue to process the scene and the search for a motive continues.
