Overview
- The fire broke out at the corner of Regency Road and South Road in Croydon Park, sending a large plume of thick black smoke over north-west Adelaide.
- SA Police closed several roads, including the northbound Regency Road off-ramp from the North–South Motorway, and advised drivers to avoid the area due to reduced visibility.
- Police declared a Dangerous Area bounded by the North–South Motorway Slip Road, Regency Road, Hudson Avenue and Standard Avenue, ordering the public to stay out.
- The Metropolitan Fire Service said the smoke is moving in a south-westerly direction and urged residents to limit exposure because of potential health effects.
- More than 80 firefighters, including crews operating from cranes, are working to contain the blaze as ambulances remain on scene and the cause is yet to be determined.
