CrowdStrike Launches AI Kill Switch in Falcon Guardian
The new control severs agents’ access to language models at AI gateways so security teams can rapidly stop rogue agent activity.
Overview
- CrowdStrike announced on Tuesday that the AI Kill Switch is available now in Falcon Guardian and that the Falcon AI Gateway is generally available and included with Falcon Guardian at no extra cost.
- The Kill Switch works by directing connected AI gateways to block agents’ access to the models that drive their decisions and actions, and it can enforce that block through CrowdStrike’s gateway or third‑party gateways.
- CrowdStrike said it has deployed SafeMind AI security models for intent detection and released agent‑level hooks for Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, and Cursor to inspect prompts and stop malicious activity at the source.
- Falcon Guardian links prompt‑level activity to runtime execution with CrowdStrike Agent Graph and offers Falcon Complete for Guardian as a generally available 24/7 managed detection and response option for AI threats.
- CrowdStrike plans broader, coordinated containment across endpoints, cloud, identities, SaaS, and browsers but noted Linux, cloud/Kubernetes coverage and some provider integrations are in pre‑beta and may change, which means customers should treat those expansions as upcoming rather than already released.
