CrowdStrike Announces AI Kill Switch and Plans to Buy Fiddler and Dreadnode

The company says the acquisitions and new runtime control will give firms pre-deployment testing, decision-level visibility, and a way to cut off rogue AI agents.

Overview

  • CrowdStrike announced on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, that it intends to acquire AI observability firm Fiddler and AI testing startup Dreadnode, with multiple outlets reporting a combined purchase consideration of about $495 million.
  • The company launched an AI Kill Switch in its Falcon Guardian product that can block agents’ access to models through AI gateways now and is planned to extend to direct endpoint termination and coordinated containment across cloud, identities, and SaaS.
  • CrowdStrike said Fiddler’s technology will be folded into the Falcon platform as Falcon Observe to provide logs, traces and explainability of agent decisions and to support audits, with general availability targeted in Q4 of fiscal 2027.
  • Dreadnode’s automated adversarial tests for jailbreaks, prompt injection and multi-turn attacks will feed findings and policy recommendations into Falcon Guardian and map results to standards such as OWASP LLMs, MITRE ATLAS and the NIST AI RMF.
  • CrowdStrike frames the moves as an end-to-end approach—test before deployment, observe in production, and stop misbehaving agents—which could help companies meet board and regulator demands for auditability while accelerating consolidation in AI-security tooling.
