Overview

• The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. on June 14 when a volunteer peacekeeper fired three shots at Arturo Gamboa, 24, who had brandished an AR-15–style rifle at the crowd.
• A stray bullet struck Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, 39, a Project Runway contestant and local fashion designer, who died in hospital and was confirmed as an innocent bystander.
• Gamboa was arrested at the scene, treated for a minor gunshot wound, booked on a murder charge, and remains in custody without bail.
• Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd confirmed the peacekeeper who fired the shots is cooperating and that the department is reviewing all actions taken.
