Overview
- All CrossCountry routes will be affected on the day, with a limited timetable on some lines, no trains on others, and services finishing much earlier than usual.
- Trains that do run are expected to be very busy with altered calling patterns, so passengers are urged to plan carefully and check National Rail Enquiries or the CrossCountry website and app before travelling.
- The disruption coincides with Oxford United’s home match against Derby County at the Kassam Stadium, increasing pressure on services around the 12.30pm kickoff.
- Birmingham Live reports no CrossCountry trains between Birmingham New Street and Leicester or Cambridge/Stansted, with very limited services on Birmingham–Manchester, Birmingham–Bristol, Birmingham–Leeds/York, and Birmingham–Reading, plus constrained links on several other routes.
- CrossCountry says it will run as many services as possible and remains available for talks with the RMT, while the union has also set out further industrial action for Saturday, November 1.
