The 2024 Critics' Choice Awards have moved their location from the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel to Santa Monica's Barker Hangar due to ongoing labor disputes.
Unite Here Local 11, representing hotel workers, has been striking since their contracts expired in July across Southern California for higher pay and better benefits.
The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel is one of over 50 hotels in Southern California currently involved in labor disputes with Unite Here Local 11.
The Critics' Choice Awards had been held at the Fairmont Century Plaza for the past two years, but has a history with the Barker Hangar, having held the ceremony there in 2013-14 and as a backup from 2016-2021.
Chelsea Handler is set to return as host for the ceremony, which will air live on The CW on Jan. 14, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. EST.
