- The DLC opens the Great Ocean of Pywel with shipbuilding, vessel customization, island exploration, and new underwater traversal that lets players dive for sunken ruins, treasure, and resources.
- Charting the Unknown expands player life systems by adding romance and marriage, full structural housing design and the ability to claim liberated castles, plus business-management mechanics for leasing and running facilities.
- For combat and replayability the expansion introduces a Boss Gauntlet that sends players against successive powerful foes, and the release follows a two-week delay the studio said was needed to add polish and stability after post-launch updates.
