Overview
- Paramount+ confirmed on Oct. 30 that Criminal Minds: Evolution will conclude with Season 20, which is slated to air in 2027.
- Key series regulars Joe Mantegna, A. J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, RJ Hatanaka, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster are reported to return for the final season.
- Production on Season 20 wrapped earlier this fall, so the finished episodes may not have been written or shot as a definitive series finale and could leave storylines unresolved.
- Cast and creators publicly expressed gratitude but said the decision felt sudden, with several actors reporting they learned of the end at or shortly before the public announcement.
- Trade reporting ties the streamer’s call to recent Paramount+/Skydance leadership changes and internal evaluations of cost and format, though the franchise could still be revived or spun off elsewhere in the future.
