Crimean Bridge Queues Halve by Evening as Inspection Posts Slow Traffic

Manual security checks at approach posts are limiting vehicle flow.

Overview

  • At 16:00 MSK, about 750 vehicles were queued on the road approaches to the Crimean Bridge with waits exceeding two hours.
  • The 16:00 MSK breakdown showed 95 vehicles waiting for manual inspection on the Taman side and 670 on the Kerch side.
  • By 19:00 MSK, the line had roughly halved with no queue on the Taman approach and about 310 vehicles remaining on the Kerch side.
  • Estimated waits eased to around one hour by early evening as inspection throughput improved.
  • Passenger cars, minibuses and buses are permitted to cross, while heavy trucks are being rerouted via land corridors or Kerch Strait ferries, according to updates from an operational Telegram channel relayed by RIA Novosti.
