Crime Branch Kashmir Registers Two New FIRs in Srinagar Land-Fraud Cases
The probe will examine possible collusion by revenue officials after fresh complaints totaling Rs 98 lakh.

- Economic Offences Wing named Riyaz Ahmad Bhat and Shabir Ahmad Wani in separate cases tied to alleged deceitful property sales and forged revenue records.
- One complaint alleges Bhat took Rs 25 lakh for a 1 kanal 5 marla plot at Moza Balhama, then sold the land to someone else and issued cheques that bounced.
- The second complaint alleges Bhat and Wani sold a 1 kanal 10 marla plot at Balhama, Patha Chowk for Rs 73 lakh with a registered sale deed before fabricating records and reselling it.
- Investigators said any role of Revenue Department staff or other third parties will be scrutinized and dealt with under law.
- Both accused were earlier named in FIR No. 14/2025 and had been arrested previously for similar offences, according to the Crime Branch.
