Crews Press On in Complex Searches for Missing Swimmer and Motorist in Sea to Sky

Search operations span Cypress Provincial Park’s Cabin Lake area; Squamish River efforts involve specialized crews from North Shore Rescue, RCMP divers, police units, coroner’s investigators.

 Search crews were also active in Squamish over the weekend after a vehicle with four occupants crashed and went into the Squamish River.   • West Vancouver Police, North Shore Rescue and BC RCMP Underwater Recovery Unit resumed Monday morning efforts to locate a 29-year-old Burnaby man presumed drowned in Cabin Lake.

  • Search teams are scouring the Squamish River by helicopter and boat for the lone missing occupant of a vehicle that plunged in on Saturday after three others escaped to safety.
