Overview
- On Thursday the SpaceX Dragon carrying Jessica Meir, Jack Hathaway, Andrej Fedjajew and Sophie Adenot safely splashed down in the Pacific off Los Angeles after leaving the ISS.
- Crew-12 spent about eight months aboard the station since their February launch and completed four extravehicular activities, including mission-critical maintenance and experiments.
- Their planned return was pushed back several days because bad weather delayed the reentry window and splashdown recovery operations.
- Sophie Adenot set a European record for longest time aboard the ISS in September and performed the first spacewalks by a Frenchwoman in August, and she will travel to NASA’s Houston center before returning to the ESA Astronaut Centre in Cologne.
- The crew had been relieved days earlier by Crew-13, which reached the station in roughly 7 hours 55 minutes in what NASA called the fastest U.S. launch-to-docking time, and officials will now carry out medical checks, debriefs and capsule processing.
