Overview
- The new name, Córdoba – Julio Anguita, was unveiled on September 16 in the Plaza de las Tres Culturas with ADIF’s president and the late leader’s family in attendance.
- ADIF says station signage is provisional and full cartelería will be in place by year-end, with the new name already visible on network screens.
- The renaming followed a municipal plenary request approved with broad support in February 2024 and a Transport Ministry resolution accepting the change in June 2025.
- Vox filed a reposición appeal in July and is studying contentious-administrative action, arguing a private promoter must cover the €180,000 cost and disputing the ministry’s stance that it assumed the change.
- Former mayor Rosa Aguilar suggested further honoring Anguita by naming a city school after him.
