Córdoba City Center Crash Injures Seven After DiDi Car Hits Motorcycle and Pedestrians

Authorities are analyzing video and forensic evidence to determine whether a medical issue, a mechanical failure or driver error caused the downtown Córdoba crash.

Overview

  • Police say a Ford Fiesta ran a red light at General Paz and 9 de Julio, struck a motorcycle and then mounted the sidewalk, leaving seven injured.
  • Four people were hospitalized, including one patient in code red; the motorcyclist sustained a right clavicle fracture and his passenger had a stable liver injury, according to health officials.
  • The 36-year-old DiDi driver was detained at the scene, his two passengers were uninjured, and La Voz reported the car’s inspection (ITV) was expired though the license was valid.
  • The accidentology unit is taking witness statements, reviewing CCTV and conducting mechanical and medical assessments, as widely shared videos show the car hitting a motorcycle, a dumpster and pedestrians.
  • Separately, prosecutors are probing a triple collision on Ruta 3 in Villarino that killed one man and seriously injured three, a 24-year-old in Perico remains in critical condition after brain surgery, and two suspects were arrested in La Plata for stabbing a parking attendant during a phone robbery.
