'Crazy Rich Asians' TV Series in Development at Max with Original Creators

Adele Lim, Jon M. Chu, and Kevin Kwan reunite for a one-hour drama adaptation of the bestselling book series.

  • Warner Bros. Television is developing a 'Crazy Rich Asians' TV series for Max, based on Kevin Kwan's bestselling novels.
  • Adele Lim, co-writer of the 2018 film, will serve as showrunner and executive producer through her production company, 100 Tigers.
  • Jon M. Chu, who directed the original movie, and Kevin Kwan, the author of the book series, will also executive produce the project.
  • The series is in its early stages, with no confirmation yet on whether the original cast, including Constance Wu and Henry Golding, will return.
  • The project does not replace the long-awaited sequel to the 2018 film, which is still in development alongside this series.
