Overview
- All traffic was temporarily held on the M62 eastbound at junction 26 near Chain Bar after a crash reported around 7:14–7:15am, with queues stretching back toward junction 25.
- AA and Inrix reported the hold and stationary traffic, and local outlets said police were dealing with the incident as inquiries were made with West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
- Separate problems hit the region’s network, including a crash on the M6 southbound at the Thelwall Viaduct, a collision on the M60 clockwise at Portwood, a breakdown on the M56 eastbound between junctions 7 and 6, and an obstruction on the M62 between junctions 11 and 12.
- By shortly after 8am, Inrix reported the M60 and M62 incidents cleared and all lanes reopened on the M6 southbound, though queues persisted near each location.
- Residual congestion continued to affect routes toward Bradford, Huddersfield and Manchester as live traffic blogs and camera feeds tracked conditions.
