  • Craig Lowndes has signed a confirmed two-year deal to move the Supercheap Auto wildcard program from Triple Eight to GM-backed Team 18 for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
  • Supercheap Auto will remain the primary sponsor, continuing its six-year commitment to nurturing emerging Supercars drivers through the wildcard pathway.
  • Chevrolet Racing general manager Chris Payne affirmed Team 18’s role as GM’s official Supercars homologation partner and host of the revamped wildcard entry.
  • Team 18 owner Charlie Schwerkolt said the squad has compiled a shortlist of rising talents, including Carrera Cup standout Harri Jones, to pair with Lowndes.
  • The program will follow its established three-round format, featuring one solo race and two long-distance enduros at Bathurst and The Bend.
