CPSC Recalls Zippee Toddler Toy Over Choking Risk in U.S. and Canada

Consumers must prove they disabled the spherical tips to receive a refund.

Overview

  • Mobi Games is recalling about 117,500 Zippee silicone activity toys in the U.S. plus 25,786 in Canada after a federal safety warning.
  • The CPSC announced the recall on November 13, citing spherical string ends that can reach the back of a child’s throat and create a choking hazard.
  • Affected units have MMDDYY date codes from 030620 through 110823 stamped inside the teal silicone cylinder.
  • One child gagged, vomited, and was briefly hospitalized after putting the toy in their mouth, according to the company.
  • The toy sold for about $20 from November 2019 through January 2024 on Amazon, PlayMobi.com, and specialty stores; owners should stop use, cut off the spheres, mark initials and date on the cylinder, and submit a photo to obtain a refund (recall@playmobi.com).
