CPS Charges 11 Over Alleged Bribery Tied to Entain’s Former Turkey Operations

The move follows an HMRC‑led probe into the company’s past Turkish business after a 2023 deferred prosecution agreement.

Overview

  • Those charged include former GVC/Entain executives Kenny Alexander, Lee Feldman and Richard Cooper, alongside several individuals who did not work for the company.
  • The CPS cites alleged offences between 2011 and 2018 covering bribery, conspiracy to defraud, fraudulent trading, cheating the public revenue, income tax evasion, acting while undischarged bankrupt and perverting the course of justice.
  • HMRC described the case as a complex international investigation conducted in partnership with CPS prosecutors.
  • Entain said it has not been charged and noted its December 2023 deferred prosecution agreement that resolved corporate liability subject to compliance.
  • The first court hearing for the 11 defendants is scheduled for 6 October at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London.
