CPD Issues Citywide Alert on Coordinated Pre‑Dawn Business Burglaries

Overview

• A weekend community alert details clusters of forcible break-ins on Dec. 17 and Dec. 20 across neighborhoods including Rogers Park, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Pilsen, the South Loop, and Beverly.
• Offenders arrive in a stolen vehicle, smash or pry open storefront doors with hammers or other blunt tools, steal cash, small safes and deposit boxes, poker machines, and large fire extinguishers, then flee.
• Police describe two to four men, about 16 to 25 years old, wearing all-black clothing with ski masks and gloves.
• Investigators named suspect vehicles including a white panel van with plate 150783B and black Honda sedans with plates EU91700 and AY78222.
